I’ll be the first one to admit that down-time is a good thing for anyone, but the fact is that I’m just not terribly good at it quite yet. After mowing not only my own lawn but the back lawns of the three adjacent neighbors (yeah, I’ve got a little nervous energy working), I did spend about two-and-a-half hours watching the second season of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer because I hadn’t and a friend told me that it was necessary. In retrospect, I see her point, but that was all I could take before I had to get up and actually do something.

I sent out more resumes, and I followed up on a couple of housing options. I spent some time reading, I did some laundry, I did the breakfast dishes (oh, and the omelet was eggcellent), I folded laundry, and I did a little necessary shopping. While in the car with my mother on speakerphone, I was told in no uncertain terms that I must eat something other than the omelet today (a little tense tummy action working this week, and I’ve not been eating much), so I did finally stop at KFC for a sandwich and fries.

Now I’m back at the house, and I’m going to do a little braindump before I head to bed. This whole unemployment thing can be tiring.

  1. hey there, dude! I don’t want to loose track of you, you know — will miss seeing you in the old familiar place, but hope I can find you from time to time for at least a diet coke! Luv ya (and the pups!)

  2. Made a side trip to Lansing after a knitting retreat weekend in Amish country in Indiana – there were 4 of us and we all knew something was different at Threadbear but just couldn’t put our finger on it. We noticed you and the dogs weren’t there but didn’t put 2 and 2 together. So sorry to hear about this and will miss you at the shop. So keep the faith and better times are coming!

  3. Missing you and pups. Hope you are eating right. You an’t afford to be ill. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know. Hang in there, it will get better.

  4. As you know, I experienced a terrible loss 2 years ago and then if that was not enough to handle, my health fell apart and I had to stop working. Everything I knew to be truth and depended upon was different. It was not just the present, but the future was so unknown. I have begun to emerge as a far different person, having been re-molded by the events. I am not unhappy with who I have become.

Yes, Michigan is a tough place to be unemployed. It doesn’t mean you can’t be the one who finds something, but have you thought about returning to Georgia where family awaits? Don’t want to see you go, but always want the best for you.

I wish nothing but good things for you and I believe they are coming through your quest for them. Your decisions may turn out to be the turning point in your life that you have been waiting for. You have so much talent! I will be here waiting to hear your news as you navigate new pathways.
    Much Love

  5. I am sending you positive thoughts and more. Change is the one thing that is guaranteed each new day. I am glad to hear you are embracing it.

I will keep my ears open for any job type things as well for you.

    Much love….

  6. I am thinking about you and with all the best for you and the beasties! My little pup is not feeling well. He is allergic to oak leaves and this time of year is miserable for him. He is all itchy and not very happy for a little old man… He just turned 11 in June. Anyway. Be happy and keepin touch.

My next chemo is on thursday so say a prayer for me kiddo….counting down to hopefully the last couple treatments in this series.
