It appears that my days in Columbus, Indiana are truly numbered. For those of you trying to keep up with me, here’s where I’ll be over the next week or so.

703 Hutchins open for visitors from noon to 5pm. Basically, this is our last opportunity to say good-bye to your local clientele. If you’d like to stop by, please, feel free. For the sake of the neighbors, please, park on 7th Street.

I leave for Lansing to complete final work on the new shop.

I pick up paint and begin painting the walls of the new shop. Also, we should be receiving the flooring that will be installed the following weekend. The flooring is being drop-shipped to the job site, but I’ll be responsible for moving a couple of tons of flooring into the back of the shop so that—this was a surprise—the flooring can acclimate to the temperature and humidity of the environment into which it is about to be installed. It’s a flexing issue. Oh, well, as long as it works.

With any luck, the phone company can have someone out to install the new phones, as well. Our Internet connection won’t be available until two weeks after the phone is installed, so we’re very interested in getting that going immediately.

Since I expect the movement of the flooring to take me most of at least one full day, I’ll hope to begin painting. After all, we can’t lay the flooring until the walls are painted.

July 15, 2004
I will need to be through with the painting and making certain that everything is ready for the arrival of my flooring installer.
Friday,
July 16, 2004
Hopefully, the friend who’s helping me—ok, you got me—whom I’m helping install the flooring will arrive, so we’ll be able to start work on the floor on Saturday.
